Obeka, Splitter of Seconds Commander Deck
Obeka is a Voltron-style upkeep engine. The deck suits up the commander with equipment that pumps power, adds double strike, and grants evasion and protection, then connects with it. Each point of combat damage becomes an extra upkeep step, and a pile of "at the beginning of your upkeep" triggers fires again and again in one turn. Courts, suspend cards, time-counter enchantments and growth artifacts turn those repeated upkeeps into drain, card advantage, free spells, tokens and eventually an alternate win. How it wins: Obeka connects for big damage, and the resulting stack of upkeep steps repeats lethal drain and burn from the Courts and Twilight Prophet, or copies an artifact under Mechanized Production until eight copies win the game, with Obeka's own combat damage and double strike finishing the rest. Key roles: - Voltron carry: equipment raises Obeka's power, gives double strike, trample and unblockability, and dodges blockers, so each hit yields as many extra upkeeps as possible. Treasure-making equipment pays for the next equip and spell (Wrecking Ball Arm, Leyline Axe, Blackblade Reforged). - Upkeep payoffs: enchantments and creatures that drain, burn, mill, draw or make tokens every upkeep. Multiplied by Obeka's extra steps, they become overwhelming damage and card advantage (Court of Ambition, Court of Embereth, Twilight Prophet). - Mechanized Production combo: each extra upkeep creates another copy of the enchanted artifact, and Court of Vantress and Replicating Ring add more copies. One big Obeka hit can reach eight same-named artifacts in a single turn (Mechanized Production, Court of Vantress, Replicating Ring). - Time counters and suspend: cards with counters that tick down each upkeep resolve in one turn, turning delayed tutors, draw and recast graveyard spells into immediate value (As Foretold, Profane Tutor, Doom's Time Platform). - Extra combats and trigger copying: additional combat phases give more chances for Obeka to connect, and copying its damage trigger doubles the extra upkeeps (Karlach, Fury of Avernus, Seize the Day, Strionic Resonator). - Protection and interaction: hexproof, ward, indestructible and shroud equipment keep the commander alive, while cheap counterspells and removal guard the big turn (Swiftfoot Boots, Counterspell, Sudden Spoiling).
