Hail Hydras
Runadi, Behemoth Caller Commander Deck
Mono-green +1/+1 counter ramp, built to cast big creatures and huge X-cost Hydras and Tyranids. Runadi adds bonus counters to anything with mana value 5 or more and gives haste to creatures with three or more counters. A heavy layer of counter doublers and "plus one" effects turns every X spell and counter source into a massive, often hasty threat. Mana dorks that scale with power or counters feed the X costs back in. Card draw keyed to big power or new counters keeps the gas flowing. How it wins: The deck swings with oversized trampling, often hasty, counter-stacked creatures, sometimes doubled again in combat or pumped team-wide, to overwhelm opponents through blockers. Key roles: - X-cost threats: Hydras and Ravenous Tyranids scale with available mana. Cast at high X, they count as big spells for Runadi's bonus counters and haste, and several draw cards, spawn tokens or leave value when they die (Goldvein Hydra, Lifeblood Hydra, Tervigon). - Counter multipliers: Replacement effects double counters or add extras, so stacking them makes every counter source grow out of control (Doubling Season, Hardened Scales, Branching Evolution). - Recurring counter engines: Permanents add counters every turn or every combat, and some double counters outright, so the board keeps growing and keeps crossing Runadi's haste threshold (Ouroboroid, Kalonian Hydra, Court of Garenbrig). - Power-scaling ramp: Mana sources tap for more as creature power or counter counts grow, alongside cost reducers and X-only mana, to fuel bigger X spells and early big drops (Selvala, Heart of the Wilds, Gyre Sage, Nexos). - Big-creature card flow: Draw triggers reward big creatures entering, counters being placed or combat damage, and a counter-wide protection spell keeps the board alive (Garruk's Uprising, Terrasymbiosis, Inspiring Call). - Trample and finishers: Team-wide trample, mass pumps and multiplayer damage turn one huge board into lethal, with fight spells clearing blockers (Overwhelming Stampede, Surrak and Goreclaw, Hydra Omnivore).
