Neera, Wild Mage
Neera, Wild Mage Commander Deck
Neera turns every cheap spell into a free spin of the library: cast a one-mana cantrip, interaction piece or counterspell, send it to the bottom, and cast whatever nonland card is revealed for free, ideally a huge bomb like Omniscience, Insurrection or Warp World. Neera triggers only once per turn, so the deck packs instant-speed one- and two-mana spells to fire her on every opponent's turn too. A large suite of free-cast and random-outcome chaos effects layers on more value and disruption around her. Mana rocks get her down early, and equipment keeps her alive. How it wins: Low-cost spells keep flipping expensive haymakers for free until one, such as Insurrection, Blatant Thievery, Omniscience or Etali attacks, swings the board decisively, while the deck controls opponents with counters and chaos. Key roles: - Cheap triggers: One-mana cantrips and selection spells are the ideal fodder for Neera, costing almost nothing to cast, and they let her cascade on any turn, including opponents' turns at instant speed. (Brainstorm, Opt, Gitaxian Probe) - Instant-speed interaction as triggers: Counterspells and one-mana removal both answer threats and fire Neera off-turn, turning defensive plays into free spells. (Counterspell, Pongify, An Offer You Can't Refuse) - High-value hits: Expensive game-swinging spells are the jackpot cards Neera aims to flip, stealing boards, granting free casts or rebuilding the battlefield. (Omniscience, Insurrection, Blatant Thievery) - Extra free-cast engines: Additional effects reveal or exile cards and cast them free, stacking more chaotic value alongside Neera. (Creative Technique, Etali, Primal Storm, Wand of Wonder) - Chaos and symmetrical disruption: Random-outcome and symmetrical effects break opponents' plans and boards, a cost the deck can absorb by recasting from the top. (Possibility Storm, Grip of Chaos, Warp World) - Ramp and protection: Mana rocks power out a six-mana Neera and the expensive hard-cast spells, while shroud and hexproof equipment shield her. (Sol Ring, Gilded Lotus, Lightning Greaves)
