Tovolar, Dire Overlord Commander Deck

by skeletal_samurai107 cards

Tovolar runs a Wolf and Werewolf tribal aggro deck. It fills the board with werewolves and wolf tokens, then pushes them into opponents so Tovolar draws a card for every Wolf or Werewolf that connects. With three or more of the tribe in play, Tovolar forces night on the upkeep. That flips the daybound and old-style transform werewolves to their stronger back faces, and the deck sets up night with moon spells, the instant-speed spell timing that day/night rewards, and haste and trample enablers. How it wins: It overwhelms opponents with a wide board of pumped Wolves and Werewolves that attack with trample, menace and lord bonuses, drawing cards off every hit, and finishes with mass pumps or Tovolar's and Kessig Wolf Run's X trample boosts. Key roles: - Night enablers and transformation: Tovolar forces night once three of the tribe are out, and these cards transform werewolves on demand, keep them on their stronger faces, or flip new ones as they enter (Unnatural Moonrise, Moonmist, Geier Reach Bandit). - Wolf token production: these cards spread the board with 2/2 Wolves to hit Tovolar's three-creature threshold and widen attacks, and copying effects can double the pack (Hollowhenge Overlord, Mayor of Avabruck, Second Harvest). - Tribal lords and anthems: these cards stack static bonuses, evasion and trample across every Wolf and Werewolf so the wide board becomes lethal (Immerwolf, Nightpack Ambusher, Howlpack Resurgence). - Combat damage card advantage: Tovolar, extra hit-to-draw creatures and attack triggers turn each connecting attacker into cards and value (Lambholt Elder, Werewolf Pack Leader, Vanquisher's Banner). - Haste and big finishers: these cards give haste and double power to swing games in one combat, alongside X trample pumps (Rhythm of the Wild, Unnatural Growth, Kessig Wolf Run). - Tribal fight removal: fight and pack-damage spells use the creatures' size to clear blockers, and targeting a Wolf or Werewolf with them creates Wolf tokens off the partisan (Moonlight Hunt, Duel for Dominance, Silverfur Partisan).
