Mizzix of the Izmagnus runs an Izzet spellslinger engine. Casting instants and sorceries with mana value above its experience count grows its counters, and each counter makes every later spell cheaper. A dense proliferate package pumps those experience counters fast, and stacked flat cost reducers push the discount further. That turns cheap X spells, big draw sorceries, rituals and free-cast effects into huge chains. Wizard-based trigger doublers, magecraft payoffs and cast-triggered token makers turn each of those spells into cards, mana and bodies, while graveyard flashback effects let the deck rebuy its spells for a second storm turn. How it wins: The deck chains discounted spells into a massive turn, then finishes with a giant X burn spell, Niv-Mizzet's draw-to-ping damage, or a wide board of cast-triggered flying tokens. Key roles: - Experience growth and proliferate: These cards ramp Mizzix's experience counters far beyond what single casts give, quickly making most spells nearly free. Some also tick up oil counters on the artifact reducer. (Expansion Algorithm, Flux Channeler, Vivisurgeon's Insight) - Stacked cost reduction and rituals: Flat reducers, tap-based discounts, instant-only mana, rituals and untap-land spells layer on top of Mizzix's discount to generate surplus mana for long chains. (Goblin Electromancer, Mindsplice Apparatus, Seething Song) - Wizard trigger doubling and spell payoffs: Creatures that double Wizard or spell-cast triggers multiply magecraft draws, Treasure creation and Niv-Mizzet's draw-and-ping loop, fueling the chain and dealing damage. (Harmonic Prodigy, Veyran, Voice of Duality, Niv-Mizzet, Parun) - Card flow and X spells: Cheap X draw and burn spells scale enormously once costs are reduced, refilling the hand mid-chain or ending the game outright. (Finale of Revelation, Comet Storm, Jaya's Immolating Inferno) - Graveyard recursion and free casting: Flashback granters and free-cast effects replay the graveyard's spells for a second explosive turn, aided by tutors that find key pieces. (Past in Flames, Mizzix's Mastery, Lier, Disciple of the Drowned) - Cast-trigger token armies: Enchantments and creatures that create a body per spell, some sized by mana value, turn a spell chain into an overwhelming flying board. (Rite of the Dragoncaller, Talrand, Sky Summoner, Metallurgic Summonings)
