Maralen, Fae Ascendant is the engine of a tribal Elf and Faerie deck. Every Elf, Faerie or changeling that enters triggers her to exile two cards from an opponent's library, and once each turn she lets you cast one of those exiled cards for free if its mana value is at most your number of Elves and Faeries. The deck floods the board with cheap creatures and tokens so Maralen triggers constantly, steals opponents' best spells, and grinds out an overwhelming board of flyers and anthem-boosted tokens. How it wins: Go wide with Elf and Faerie tokens pumped by anthems, attack in the air with flyers, and finish with drain effects like Lathril's ten-Elf activation or Obyra's life loss. Key roles: - Token makers: Flood the board with Elves and Faeries so Maralen triggers repeatedly and the creature count stays high, such as Bitterblossom and Imperious Perfect - Tribal anthems: Pump the Elf and Faerie army so wide boards hit hard, such as Elvish Archdruid and Scion of Oona - ETB doublers: Make entering creatures trigger Maralen and other enters abilities extra times, such as Panharmonicon - Changeling enablers: Make every creature count as an Elf and Faerie to grow Maralen's free-cast threshold, such as Maskwood Nexus and Springleaf Parade - Flash and counter tempo: Let you add Elves and Faeries and trigger Maralen on opponents' turns while countering key spells, such as Vedalken Orrery and Spellstutter Sprite
