Lucy MacLean, Positively Armed
Lucy MacLean, Positively Armed Commander Deck
Lucy MacLean, Positively Armed runs a mono-white "group hug with a hook" token deck. Whenever any token enters, Lucy can hand a copy to another player, and Lucy's controller draws a card if an opponent got it, once per turn. That makes every turn around the table a chance to draw, so the deck is full of effects that make tokens on opponents' turns or for opponents: gifts, removal that leaves opponents a token, symmetrical tempting offers and upkeep triggers. On top of that sits a big pile of "punisher" draw and Treasure engines that pay off when opponents draw extra cards, cast multiple spells or have more lands, while token doublers and anthem effects turn the deck's own token stream into a winning board. How it wins: It builds a wide board of doubled tokens, buffed by counters and mass flying or double strike, and swings for lethal behind attack taxes, with Halo Fountain's untap-fifteen win as an alternate finish. Key roles: - Golden Rule fuel: Effects that create tokens every turn cycle, including opponents' turns, or that give tokens to opponents directly. Each one sets up Lucy MacLean's copy-and-draw, and Lucy can return the favor by copying an opponent's token back to Lucy's controller. (Forbidden Orchard, Master of Ceremonies, Illustrious Wanderglyph) - Symmetry punishers: Cards that reward opponents drawing extra cards, casting second spells or out-landing the deck. They convert the gifted cards and symmetrical hug effects into Treasure and card advantage. (Trouble in Pairs, Smuggler's Share, Tataru Taru) - Token doubling and copying: Replacement effects and copy engines that multiply every token the deck makes for itself, scaling the board quickly. (Anointed Procession, Elspeth, Storm Slayer, Helm of the Host) - Token-entry card engines: Once-per-turn draw triggers off small creatures or tokens entering, stacking redundant card flow on top of Lucy MacLean. (Caretaker's Talent, Welcoming Vampire, Bennie Bracks, Zoologist) - Go-wide payoffs: Mass counters, evasion and double strike that turn many small tokens into a lethal attack, or untap enough creatures for the alternate win. (Cathars' Crusade, Moonshaker Cavalry, Halo Fountain) - Pillowfort and catch-up ramp: Attack taxes keep the deck safe while it grows. Land-count catch-up cards exploit being behind on mana, which the deck often is after feeding opponents. (Ghostly Prison, Archangel of Tithes, Land Tax)
