Maralen, Fae Ascendant is a tribal Elf and Faerie deck that floods the board with cheap flying and Elf creatures. Each Elf or Faerie entering triggers Maralen to exile two cards from an opponent's library, and she lets you cast one of those exiled spells for free each turn if its mana value is at most your Elf and Faerie count. Changelings and tribal lords make the creature count grow fast, so the free spell gets bigger and the opponent's library shrinks. How it wins: Go wide with pumped Elf and Faerie tokens and creatures and attack in the air, finishing with Lathril's ten-Elf drain or Obyra's life loss from entering Faeries. Key roles: - Token makers: Build the Elf and Faerie count and trigger Maralen on every entry, such as Bitterblossom and Imperious Perfect - Tribal lords: Pump the team so the swarm hits hard, such as Elvish Archdruid and Scion of Oona - Changeling enablers: Make creatures count as both Elves and Faeries so the cast threshold rises faster, such as Maskwood Nexus and Chomping Changeling - Mana accelerants: Get Elves and Faeries onto the battlefield early and in bulk, such as Priest of Titania and Maraleaf Pixie - Flash and counter tricks: Add Elf and Faerie bodies at instant speed and protect the board, such as Spellstutter Sprite and High Fae Trickster
