Jorn, God of Winter // Kaldring, the Rimestaff Commander Deck

by FTGrimlock100 cards

Jorn, God of Winter // Kaldring, the Rimestaff leads a Sultai snow deck that turns nearly every land and permanent into a snow source. That feeds a large pool of {S} mana sinks, cards that grow with the snow count, and tap-down effects. Jorn untaps every snow permanent when it attacks, so lands, mana rocks, tappers and utility creatures can be used before combat and again after. Kaldring adds a steady way to replay snow permanents and lands from the graveyard. How it wins: The deck swarms opponents with snow creatures and creature lands that scale with the snow count. It keeps blockers locked down and taps opposing creatures en masse, and it can also finish games with a 20/20 Marit Lage. Key roles: - Snow mana base and untap engine: Snow lands, snow rocks and snow mana creatures pay for {S} costs, and Jorn's attack trigger plus dedicated untappers double the mana and repeat tap abilities each turn (Rime Tender, Sculptor of Winter, Glittering Frost). - Snow-count payoffs: Creatures and spells grow stronger with the number of snow permanents or snow lands, giving the deck large, efficient threats (Abominable Treefolk, Rimefeather Owl, Spirit of the Aldergard). - {S} mana sinks and evasive beaters: Pump, evasion and creature-land abilities soak up the untapped snow mana and push combat damage through (Hailstorm Valkyrie, Faceless Haven, Frostpeak Yeti). - Tap-down control: Tappers, freeze auras and mass tap effects clear the way for attacks and stall the opponents' boards (Icebind Pillar, Cone of Cold, Icebreaker Kraken). - Marit Lage package: Untapped snow mana can drain the counters off Dark Depths, and a wide snow board can flip Marit Lage's Slumber, each producing a 20/20 flying indestructible finisher (Dark Depths, Marit Lage's Slumber). - Snow card selection and recursion: Filters dig for snow cards, while Kaldring and other recursion replay or return snow permanents from the graveyard (Glacial Revelation, The Three Seasons, Narfi, Betrayer King).
