Sydri - Slow Artifact Combo
Sydri, Galvanic Genius Commander Deck
Sydri anchors a dense artifact-control deck in Esper colors, using artifact mana, tutors and untappers to assemble locks and combo pieces while board wipes and stax pieces keep opponents in check. Sydri's blue ability animates noncreature artifacts into creatures with power equal to their mana value, which turns big artifacts into threats and feeds sacrifice outlets like Arcum Dagsson. Her white-black ability grants deathtouch and lifelink, which pairs with Aetherflux Reservoir: an animated Reservoir hitting with lifelink fuels its own 50-life cannon. How it wins: It tutors up an artifact combo such as Thopter Foundry with Sword of the Meek and Time Sieve for endless turns, or a Sydri-powered Aetherflux Reservoir life loop for lethal damage, backed by Mindslaver, Karn and Tezzeret as alternate finishers. Key roles: - Combo assembly via artifact tutors: Generic and artifact-specific search plus top-of-library setups find the few pieces needed for the infinite-turn loops or the Reservoir kill (Whir of Invention, Fabricate, Enlightened Tutor) - Thopter and Time Sieve engine: Sacrificing artifacts for flying tokens that return the Sword, or recycling the Assembly's five Thopters, feeds Time Sieve for repeated extra turns, with each artifact death draining through the Disciple (Thopter Foundry, Sword of the Meek, Time Sieve) - Sydri animation and sacrifice tricks: Sydri turns artifacts into lifelinking, deathtouching attackers, while Arcum Dagsson and sacrifice outlets convert those animated artifacts into fresh tutored ones or mana (Arcum Dagsson, Krark-Clan Ironworks, Aetherflux Reservoir) - Untap and ability doubling: Untappers and ability copiers multiply mana rocks and activated abilities, including Sydri's, for explosive turns and pseudo-locks on opponents' turns (Voltaic Key, Rings of Brighthearth, Unwinding Clock) - Artifact recursion and copying: Graveyard returns and clones rebuy or duplicate key artifacts like Mindslaver, Time Sieve or wiped pieces (Academy Ruins, Sharuum the Hegemon, Phyrexian Metamorph) - Stax and asymmetric wipes: Mana denial and sweepers that spare or protect artifacts strip opponents' boards, while Darksteel Forge and Padeem shield the deck's own (Winter Orb, Scourglass, Darksteel Forge)
