The deck accelerates this gameplan through cost-reduction effects and free-untap countermagic, keeping mana open to protect Y'shtola while continuing to fire off instants and sorceries, and supports the commander with complementary pingers like Papalymo Totolymo and Fandaniel, Telophoroi Ascian to stack additional life loss triggers. The win condition is attrition through repeated life drain, backed by Exsanguinate as a finisher and sweeping removal to keep the board clear while the commander chips opponents down from a safe distance.
