Jace, Multiverse Architect leads a four-color creature-cheating deck that turns cheap bodies into huge top-end threats. Token makers and spare creatures get exiled by Jace's −3, a mass-swap spell, or a polymorph effect, and replaced by whatever creature turns up next in a library packed with eight-to-ten-mana bombs. Jace's +1 filters draws and his tax on opponents' combat keeps him alive to keep cycling the engine. How it wins: It cheats out oversized flyers like Archon of Cruelty, Archfiend of Despair, Avacyn, Memnarch and The Ur-Sphinx, often several at once off a mass swap, and beats down with them while their triggers drain and strip opponents. Key roles: - Reveal-until-creature cheats: Jace's −3, mass swaps and polymorph-style effects trade weak or exiled creatures for random hits off the top of the library, which is built so nearly every hit is a bomb (Mass Polymorph, Synthetic Destiny, Proteus Staff). - Fodder and token makers: Swarms of small tokens give the cheat effects more creatures to exile, so a mass swap with many tokens flips into many expensive creatures, and they double as chump blockers to protect Jace (Secure the Wastes, Grand Crescendo, Lingering Souls). - Expensive payoff creatures: Huge creatures that are hard to cast normally but devastating when cheated in, with enter and attack triggers that drain, remove or recur (Archon of Cruelty, Avacyn, Angel of Horror, Archfiend of Despair). - Noncreature-spell engine: Casting instants, sorceries and artifacts draws cards, makes Sharks, and empowers Jace tokens, keeping the creature density for reveals while still generating value and fodder (Whirlwind of Thought, Shark Typhoon, Plan for All Outcomes). - Top-of-library control: Draw-and-put-back spells and Jace's +1 manage the library and fill the hand while fueling the spell-cast engine (Brainstorm, Brainsurge, Fact or Fiction). - Board resets and protection: Token-producing wraths and exile sweepers clear opposing boards and leave the deck ahead, while mass indestructible effects shield its own creatures (Martial Coup, White Sun's Twilight, Flawless Maneuver).
