Bard, King of Dale turns every extra draw into two cards and doubles every token made under its controller's control, so this Azorius deck stacks cheap draw spells and recruit effects to bury opponents in card advantage. Recruit pays twice under Bard: the extra draw becomes two cards, and discarding a nonland card makes two Human Soldiers instead of one. A suite of "second card each turn" payoffs grows creatures from all that drawing, while tax effects and counterspells hold off opponents until a wide, pumped board or a buffed evasive threat takes over. How it wins: It overwhelms the table with a doubled token army pumped by anthems and +1/+1 counters, backed by big flyers like The Lord of the Eagles, with Fblthp, Impossibly Lost offering an alternate win once the doubled draws empty the library. Key roles: - Draw doubling engine: Instants, sorceries and artifacts that draw outside the draw step get doubled by Bard, King of Dale, so the deck refills far beyond what the cards print, and X-draw spells scale explosively. (Pull from Tomorrow, Uncover the Moon-Letters, Insight Engine) - Recruit and token doubling: Recruit creatures and spells loot for value and create doubled Human Soldiers. Prepared Cadet spells and Bird tokens add to the width, and token-entry payoffs reward several tokens arriving at once. (Bard's Company, Patient Instructor, Belladonna Took) - Second-draw payoffs: Bard's doubled draws reliably trigger "whenever you draw your second card" and per-draw effects, adding +1/+1 counters, lifelink, combat buffs and milling. (Bard the Bowman, Ravenhill Flock, Lake-town Toymaker) - Counters and go-wide anthems: Static pumps and power-scaling bodies turn the wide board lethal, while counter doubling and proliferate multiply the accumulated +1/+1 counters. (Esgaroth Garrison, Deepglow Skate, Tekuthal, Inquiry Dominus) - Attack taxes and interaction: Attack taxes, cheap removal and counterspells keep opponents off the deck while it builds up, and several of them also feed recruit or draw. (Propaganda, Archangel of Tithes, Sound the Trumpets) - Legendary and Lake-town subtheme: A cluster of Hobbit-themed legends gives the deck tutor targets and enables storied, while flicker and adventure creatures replay recruit and enter-the-battlefield triggers for more value. (The Arkenstone, Dáin, Lord of the Iron Hills, The Mind Stone)
