Evereth, Viceroy of Plunder

Evereth, Viceroy of Plunder Commander Deck

by BAIKEN102 cards

This Rakdos deck turns a steady stream of Treasure from cheap creatures and spells into fodder for Evereth, Viceroy of Plunder. Evereth can sacrifice another creature or artifact any number of times at sorcery speed, gaining a +1/+1 counter each time and lifelink whenever the sacrificed permanent was a Treasure. Reanimation keeps the Treasure-making creatures coming back, so the board refills after each round of sacrifices, and the leftover Treasures fund the {1}{B/R} payment on Evereth's death trigger. How it wins: On the chosen turn, the deck sacrifices every spare artifact and creature into Evereth to inflate its power, then sacrifices Evereth to a separate outlet and pays {1}{B/R} so it deals damage equal to its power to each opponent, backed up by flying, lifelinked commander beats. Key roles: - Cheap Treasure makers: Low-cost creatures and spells that create Treasures repeatedly, through attacks, enter or death triggers, or spells cast. They supply both the mana and the sacrifice fodder that grows Evereth, and turn on its lifelink. (Evereth, Viceroy of Plunder) - Artifact and creature fodder: Tokens and cheap bodies, especially ones that leave Treasures or other artifacts behind when they die. Each one is extra counters on Evereth and value instead of a pure loss. - Free sacrifice outlets: Instant-speed or cost-free outlets that do what Evereth cannot do itself. They sacrifice Evereth on demand to fire its death trigger, and they also let fodder be cashed in outside Evereth's sorcery-speed window. - Reanimation and recursion: Effects that return Treasure-producing creatures and fallen fodder from the graveyard. These rebuild the engine after each round of sacrifices or a board wipe, so the counter pile on Evereth keeps growing. - Death and sacrifice payoffs: Cards that drain, deal damage or draw whenever creatures or artifacts are sacrificed. These turn the big sacrifice turn into extra reach on top of Evereth's final blast. - Power amplifiers and protection: Effects that double or add counters, or keep Evereth safe from removal before the final turn. A large Evereth makes the death trigger lethal, and the commander can be recast after it dies to threaten the blast again.
