Smaug the Impenetrable sits at the center of a Treasure-generation engine, converting noncombat damage dealt to him into tokens that fuel mana acceleration, drain effects, and alternate win conditions like Revel in Riches or controlling twenty or more artifacts with Hellkite Tyrant. The deck's primary combo win involves equipping Smaug with damage-redirection tools or pairing him with Pestilence or Pyrohemia, where each activation deals noncombat damage to him, creating a cascade of Treasure tokens that can be leveraged for drain effects from cards that punish token creation and sacrifice. Supporting pieces that multiply Treasures, deal damage whenever artifacts enter or leave the battlefield, and drain opponents on token loss ensure that even outside the combo, the deck generates incremental life loss that closes out games.
