Blight curse 3.0

Auntie Ool, Cursewretch Commander Deck

by windswept_surrakar100 cards

How it wins: The deck spreads -1/-1 counters across the table, so every placement drains opponents through the commander and the life-loss and damage payoffs, while board-wide counter sweeps clear blockers for its evasive threats. The Mikaeus, the Unhallowed plus Devoted Druid combo gives infinite mana and counter placements as an alternate kill. Auntie Ool, Cursewretch is a -1/-1 counter engine. Each time a creature gets counters, the deck draws a card if that creature is its own, and the creature's controller loses 1 life if it belongs to an opponent. The deck surrounds Auntie with repeatable blight costs on its own creatures, plus board-wide counter sweepers, proliferate and wither sources, so that counters land constantly. This turns into a stream of cards for its own creatures and incremental drain against opponents, and the same counters also wipe opposing boards and let the deck steal the creatures that die. Key roles: - Self-blight card engine: Creatures and abilities with blight costs or self-counter drawbacks put counters on the deck's own creatures, and with Auntie Ool, Cursewretch each placement draws a card while also producing mana, treasure or card filtering. (Sinister Gnarlbark, Scuzzback Scrounger, Gristle Glutton) - Mass counters and proliferate: Board-wide counter effects and repeatable proliferate hit every opposing creature at once, so each placement makes its controller lose life and opposing boards wither away. (Black Sun's Zenith, Carnifex Demon, Contagion Engine) - Counter payoffs that drain and build boards: Static triggers turn each counter placement into opponent life loss, direct damage or a stream of tokens, which raises the value of every counter beyond Auntie Ool, Cursewretch's own trigger. (All Will Be One, Obelisk Spider, Nest of Scarabs) - Stealing the dead: Creatures that opponents control with -1/-1 counters can be reanimated under the deck's control when they die, and other effects pay out treasure or cards on those deaths, so sweepers turn into card advantage. (Necroskitter, The Reaper, King No More, Village Pillagers) - Persist and undying loops: Persist and undying creatures plus recursion bring creatures back with counters, which re-triggers the engine. Mikaeus, the Unhallowed with Devoted Druid makes infinite mana and infinite counter placements. (Mikaeus, the Unhallowed, Devoted Druid, Putrid Goblin) - Sacrifice and lock pieces: A sacrifice outlet places counters while drawing cards, and lock pieces stop countered creatures from attacking or blocking or make all damage wither, which controls combat while draining opponents. (Yawgmoth, Thran Physician, Kulrath Knight, Everlasting Torment)
