Fire Lord Azula wants to attack and then turn combat into a spell-casting window. Each attack adds RR that lasts until end of combat, and every spell cast while she is attacking is copied. That makes cheap instants, flash creatures and instant-speed removal or card draw cast mid-combat worth double, with the copies of flash creatures becoming extra tokens. The rest of the list keeps her alive and connecting, extends the combat mana, and rewards casting several spells in one turn. How it wins: Azula and the other attackers deal combat damage while doubled burn, pump spells, drain triggers and copied flash creatures take apart blockers and finish off opponents' life totals. Key roles: - Combat-step instants: cheap burn, removal and card draw cast during the attack so Fire Lord Azula's copy doubles their value, often paid for with firebending mana (Lightning Bolt, Improvised Club, Visions of Villainy) - Flash creatures and tokens: creatures cast at instant speed while attacking, whose copies become extra bodies and repeat enter-the-battlefield effects like bounce, removal or tapping blockers (Venser, Shaper Savant, Pestermite, Downwind Ambusher) - Extra combat mana and spell copying: other firebending creatures and an attack-mana source add more mana mid-combat, and a planeswalker-granted copy effect stacks with Fire Lord Azula's copying (Vindictive Warden, Brazen Collector, Way of the Cryomancer) - Keeping the attacker alive and unblocked: protection, indestructibility and evasion for the commander, several of which cost little and get copied onto a second creature, and some of which reward a legendary attacker (Octopus Form, Orcish Medicine, Gimli's Axe) - Spellslinging payoffs: creatures and enchantments that grow, make tokens or drain whenever spells are cast, rewarding the multi-spell combat turns (Boar-q-pine, Tomik, Izzet Sparkmage, Basilica Screecher) - Pump and evasion tricks: combat tricks that, once copied, push lethal damage through or win combats outright (Gimli's Fury, Stolen Vitality, How to Start a Riot)
