A "donate the drawbacks" deck. It packs cheap, oversized creatures with crippling downsides: upkeep sacrifices, self-damage, life loss, poison, discard, hand-size cuts and lose-the-game clauses. Jon Irenicus, control-swap spells and Fateful Handoff then hand those creatures to opponents, where the goad from Jon, Bloodthirsty Blade and Parasitic Impetus forces them to attack other players, and Jon draws a card each time a creature the deck owns attacks under someone else's control. Opponents end up hurting each other and themselves with the deck's own monsters while it pulls ahead on cards and holds up counterspells. How it wins: Opponents are ground down by gifted creatures that drain, sacrifice and damage their own controllers and swing at one another, with Abyssal Persecutor or Archfiend of the Dross handed off as poison pills (and Exchange of Words on Archfiend making a target opponent lose outright), while the deck's own evasive creatures and goaded attacks finish weakened players. Key roles: - Poisoned gifts: Cheap, huge bodies whose upkeep sacrifices, self-damage, discard, life loss or game-losing clocks are drawbacks meant for whoever ends up controlling them (Lord of the Pit, Phyrexian Negator, Archfiend of the Dross). - Handing them off: Jon Irenicus's end-step donation plus swap and give-away spells move the worst creatures to opponents, often taking a good creature back in exchange (Wrong Turn, Shifting Grift, Fateful Handoff). - Goad and forced combat: Goad effects make donated and opposing creatures attack other players, drain their controllers, and trigger Jon's card draw on every attack by a creature the deck owns (Bloodthirsty Blade, Parasitic Impetus, Curse of Verbosity). - Lock pieces for the deck's own creatures: Creatures with "can't cast creature spells", "non-Eye creatures can't attack" or hand-size restrictions shut down an opponent's own game plan once given away, while the deck plays them early to make the donation worthwhile (Grid Monitor, Evil Eye of Orms-by-Gore, Thought Devourer). - Self-protection and redirection: Effects that discourage or bounce attacks back keep the goaded army pointed elsewhere and can return gifts to hand for reuse (Propaganda, Dissipation Field, Aetherize). - Evasive pressure and cheap enablers: Unblockable one-drops chip in damage, and cost reduction plus fast mana deploy drawback creatures early for an earlier handoff (Slither Blade, Heartless Summoning, Dark Ritual).
