Avacyn - Removal
Avacyn, Angel of Hope Commander Deck
Avacyn, Angel of Hope makes every other permanent its controller owns indestructible, so this mono-white deck resolves Avacyn and then fires off "destroy all" effects that wipe only the opponents' boards. Board wipes, land destruction and Worldslayer all leave this side of the table untouched. Until then, a prison-and-tax shell slows opponents down, punishes their extra draws and spells with treasure and cards, and ramps through a Plains-heavy mana base so the eight-drop arrives on time. How it wins: After Avacyn lands, mass destruction of lands, creatures or all permanents leaves opponents with nothing while a flying, indestructible 8/8 and its angel friends beat them down unopposed. Key roles: - One-sided armageddon: Under Avacyn, land wipes, creature wipes and total-permanent wipes become lopsided resets that destroy only opposing boards, and Stonehewer Giant can tutor up the equipment that does it on a combat hit. (Armageddon, Hour of Revelation, Worldslayer) - Reaching eight mana: Rocks, cost reducers and Plains-fetching catch-up effects push out the expensive commander and angels, and the all-Plains base switches on the same-name lands payoffs. (Sceptre of Eternal Glory, Land Tax, Starnheim Aspirant) - Taxing opponents' actions: Effects that trigger on opponents drawing or casting extra spells turn their activity into treasure and cards, which funds the plan and fuels the grip. (Smothering Tithe, Trouble in Pairs, Esper Sentinel) - Stax and lockdown: Hate pieces tap opponents' creatures, shut off casting outside the hand or during this turn, and disrupt spell sequencing so they can't answer the wipe turn. (Grand Abolisher, Drannith Magistrate, Authority of the Consuls) - Shielding the commander: Haste/protection equipment, counters for targeted spells and loss-prevention tricks keep Avacyn alive, since indestructibility doesn't stop exile or bounce. (Lightning Greaves, Rebuff the Wicked, Teferi's Protection) - Angel follow-up: Big flyers recur permanents off landfall, defend against attacks, or survive losses, carrying the beatdown alongside Avacyn after the reset. (Emeria Shepherd, Exquisite Archangel, Court of Grace)
