Riku of Many Paths sits at the center of a modal spell engine, rewarding you for casting charms, commands, and other choose-your-own-effect spells by generating card advantage, building up a large trampling threat, and flooding the board with flying Bird tokens. The deck runs a dense suite of modal instants and sorceries across all three colors, with damage-dealing creatures like Guttersnipe, Kessig Flamebreather, and Veyran, Voice of Duality amplifying the storm-like effect of casting many spells in a turn to drain opponents. The win condition emerges from a combination of chip damage from spell triggers, an increasingly large Riku attacking with trample, and a wide air force of Birds backed by counterspell and removal modal spells that keep the board and stack under control.
