Kaalia of the Vast is a cheat engine. Each time she attacks, she puts an expensive Angel, Demon or Dragon from hand onto the battlefield tapped and attacking, so the deck skips paying seven to nine mana for its haymakers. Everything else serves that engine: fast mana gets Kaalia out early, haste and shroud equipment let her swing safely, and tutors and a dense creature suite keep a fatty in hand. Attack-trigger doublers and attack-based payoffs make every Kaalia swing produce several game-warping bodies or effects. How it wins: Repeated Kaalia attacks drop huge evasive fliers that win through combat damage, damage amplification and enter or attack triggers, with Master of Cruelties dropped through Kaalia setting an unblocked opponent to 1 life for an outright kill. Key roles: - Cheat targets with impact on entry: Angels, Demons and Dragons whose enter or combat triggers swing the game the moment Kaalia drops them, removing threats, wiping boards or stealing resources (Angel of Despair, Lord of the Void, Archfiend of Depravity) - Attack-trigger doubling: these cards make Kaalia's attack trigger fire twice, cheating two creatures per swing, and they also double attack triggers like Drakuseth's (Isshin, Two Heavens as One, Windcrag Siege) - Damage multipliers and burn on entry: these punish opponents whenever creatures enter or deal damage, turning each cheated fatty into direct damage or doubled hits for fast kills (Terror of the Peaks, Gisela, Blade of Goldnight, Dragon Tempest) - Extra combats and lethal finishers: these turn one attack into overwhelming or immediately lethal pressure, including the Master of Cruelties combo with Kaalia (Master of Cruelties, Aurelia, the Warleader, Archfiend of Despair) - Keeping Kaalia swinging: haste and shroud or hexproof equipment, protective creatures, free protection spells and recursion keep the commander and her payload alive through removal and wraths (Lightning Greaves, Mother of Runes, Flawless Maneuver) - Finding the payload: tutors and selection fill the hand with the right Angel, Demon or Dragon before each Kaalia attack (Demonic Tutor, Kaalia, Zenith Seeker, Demonic Counsel)
