Wicked Snail

Wick, the Whorled Mind Commander Deck

by nightbound_devil93 cards

Wick is a Rat tribal deck built around one growing Snail: every Rat that enters makes the first Snail token or puts a +1/+1 counter on it. Then {U}{B}{R} sacrifices it, and Wick deals damage equal to its power to each opponent and draws that many cards. Around this engine sit a heavy blue control shell of counterspells, bounce and removal, plus a graveyard subtheme of mill, surveil and threshold that powers several Rats and refills the creature count through recursion. How it wins: Repeated Rat entries pump a Snail that gets cashed in with Wick for burn to every opponent plus a refill of cards, backed by evasive Rat and ninja combat damage and occasional poison from infect or toxic auras. Key roles: - Rat entry triggers: Rats and changelings enter repeatedly to grow the Snail. Flicker and bounce-replay effects re-trigger Wick, and token copiers multiply the count (Marrow-Gnawer, Ghostly Flicker, Splash Portal). - Snail cash-out and token copying: Wick turns the Snail's power into damage and cards. Copy effects can duplicate Rats or turn token creation into copies of a key creature for more triggers (Moonlit Meditation, Quasiduplicate, Visage Bandit). - Evasive Rat and ninja pressure: Unblockable or fear-granting Rats connect, and ninjutsu returns an unblocked attacker to hand. That return lets a Rat be recast for another entry trigger while dealing combat damage (Ink-Eyes, Servant of Oni, Nezumi Prowler, Nightwhorl Hermit). - Graveyard fuel and threshold: Mill, surveil and dig spells fill the yard to switch on threshold Rats and scale Wick's Patrol's removal (Mind Drill Assailant, Thought Shucker, Discerning Taste). - Recursion and death value: Reanimation and return-on-death effects bring Rats back for fresh entry triggers and resilience. Two of them, Necrogen Communion and Phyresis, also give the poison angle (Necrogen Communion, Dread Return, Rogues' Gallery). - Control shell: Counterspells, bounce, spot removal and sweepers protect the engine and keep opponents' boards in check while the Snail grows (Counterspell, Fierce Guardianship, Evacuation).
