Hazel of the Rootbloom sits at the center of a Squirrel token engine, using her end-step copy ability and token-doubling effects from Chatterfang, Squirrel General to rapidly flood the battlefield with small creatures, then tapping them through her ability to generate enormous amounts of mana. That mana fuels explosive turns culminating in Craterhoof Behemoth or Beastmaster Ascension turning the squirrel horde into a lethal combat force, while a parallel drain strategy through death-trigger enchantments and creatures bleeds opponents out whenever tokens are sacrificed or die. The deck also layers Food synergies — converting tokens into additional resources through sacrifice payoffs and forage effects — to sustain card draw and life totals while feeding Hazel's mana engine.
