The deck layers drain effects — through constellation triggers, life-loss Auras like Parasitic Impetus and its kin, and Eriette of the Charmed Apple's end-step drain — to bleed opponents out while the goaded army does the heavy lifting elsewhere. Defensive enchantments like Sphere of Safety and Ghostly Prison protect you during this process, and mass removal that spares enchanted creatures like Winds of Rath can clear the board while leaving your strategic pieces intact.
