Illuna, Apex of Wishes
Illuna, Apex of Wishes Commander Deck
Illuna is a mutate value deck built around stacking mutate creatures onto cheap hexproof bodies, so each mutation triggers every ability in the pile. Illuna's own mutate trigger works like cascade, flipping cards off the top of the library until it hits a nonland permanent and putting it onto the battlefield or into hand. Free-cast and top-of-library effects echo that cascade feel, alongside heavy mana-cheating for big creature spells. Cost reducers, flash enablers and draw-on-cast engines keep the mutations flowing, and the stack grows into a huge evasive threat. How it wins: A towering mutated stack with flying and trample, often given haste and protection, attacks through tapped or bounced blockers while the free permanents pulled from the library and free-cast enchantments build an overwhelming board. Key roles: - Hexproof mutate bases: Cheap untargetable creatures give mutate pieces a safe body to land on, so removal can't punish the deck by two-for-one-ing a stack in response (Slippery Bogle, Gladecover Scout, Silhana Ledgewalker). - Cascade-style card advantage: Mutate triggers and enter effects that exile or reveal cards from the top of the library and put permanents straight onto the battlefield, so every mutation snowballs (Auspicious Starrix, Etali, Primal Conqueror, Genesis Ultimatum). - Mutate payoffs and disruption: Mutate creatures whose triggers draw, make tokens, grow the stack, or remove, tap and bounce opposing threats, plus a payoff that grows anything that mutates (Pouncing Shoreshark, Archipelagore, Essence Symbiote). - Cost reduction and flash casting: Discounts on creature and mutate spells, with instant-speed casting, let several mutations land in one turn or on an opponent's end step (Pollywog Symbiote, Animar, Soul of Elements, Radagast of Rhosgobel). - Free-cast enchantments: Late-game engines turn the hand and library into free spells for explosive turns of chained mutations (Omniscience, Omnipresence, One with the Multiverse). - Combat draw and evasion: Trample, haste, uncounterability and draw-on-damage effects turn each hit from the big stack into more fuel (Toski, Bearer of Secrets, Garruk's Uprising, Rhythm of the Wild).
