Shorikai, Genesis Engine is a control-flavored artifact and Vehicles deck. Its engine is Shorikai itself: each activation loots two-for-one and leaves behind a Pilot token that crews as if it had 3 power. Repeated activations, multiplied by artifact untappers, build a hand full of answers and a board of crew bodies. Those bodies pilot a fleet of evasive Vehicles, and artifact token makers grow Construct swarms, all backed by counterspells, sweepers that leave the noncreature Vehicle fleet untouched, and heavy card advantage. How it wins: It crews a growing fleet of flying and trampling Vehicles, backed by Construct and token armies, to attack opponents down, with Mechanized Production as an alternate route to a game win. Key roles: - Looting and Pilot engine: Shorikai is activated as often as possible, and untap effects let it loot several times per turn. Each activation adds another crew body and digs for answers, while second-draw payoffs turn the extra draws into more tokens. (Unwinding Clock, Manifold Key, Thopter Fabricator) - Vehicle fleet and crew support: A suite of efficient flying Vehicles converts the Pilot tokens into evasive damage. Crew-cost reducers and effects that animate other Vehicles let one crew action field several attackers, including Shorikai's 8/8 body. (Kotori, Pilot Prodigy, Mobilizer Mech, Parhelion II) - Artifact density and Construct payoffs: The many mana rocks, artifact lands and Vehicles feed cards that make Constructs scaling with artifact count, along with copy and value engines that trigger on artifacts entering. (Urza, Lord High Artificer, Simulacrum Synthesizer, Ultron, Artificial Malevolence) - One-sided board control: Creature sweepers and bounce spells clear the table while the Vehicles survive as noncreature artifacts, and the Shorikai-made Pilots are easy to rebuild after a wipe. (Supreme Verdict, Desynchronization, Out of Time) - Counterspell and tax shield: Free and cheap counters protect the engine, while draw-tax enchantments punish opponents and fund the long game. (Fierce Guardianship, Rhystic Study, Smothering Tithe) - Tutors and alternate win: Artifact tutors and recursion find key pieces, including the Mechanized Production win, with Teleportation Circle and the untap package supporting copies and value. (Enlightened Tutor, Fabricate, Mechanized Production)
