Maarika is a big-power voltron and fight deck. It pumps one huge creature, usually Maarika herself, then turns that power into damage through combat, fight and "deals damage equal to its power" effects. Maarika must be blocked and is indestructible on her own turn, so she can safely trade into blockers and fight targets. Any excess damage she deals to a creature makes its controller sacrifice a noncreature, nonland permanent, so every oversized hit also strips an opponent's board. Power doublers, double strike and damage doublers stack that excess, and "power 4 or greater" payoffs turn the large bodies into mana and cards. How it wins: It kills opponents with massively pumped trampling or double-striking attackers, or turns one giant creature's power into board-wide and player-wide damage, with Dawnsire, Pain for All, Brash Taunter, Chandra's Ignition and Jumbo Cactuar adding near-infinite damage finishes. Additional it is possible to sacrifce big creature to damage opopnents with e.g. Jarad Fling Key roles: - Power multipliers: These double or hugely inflate one creature's power so that its fights, sweeps and combat hits deal enormous excess damage. (Mr. Orfeo, the Boulder, Xenagos, God of Revels, Two-Handed Axe) - Fight and bite engine: Maarika and other big bodies fight or bite blockers. Maarika's indestructibility on her own turn makes each fight one-sided, and the excess damage forces sacrifices, with fight triggers drawing cards along the way. (Ulvenwald Tracker, Gimli's Reckless Might, Neyith of the Dire Hunt) - Power-to-board damage: One-sided sweepers use the commander's power to clear every other creature and, in some cases, hit each opponent directly. Indestructible Maarika and Brash Taunter survive the blast. (Nibelheim Aflame, Chandra's Ignition, Nova Flame) - Damage doubling and redirection: These amplify or redirect damage so that a creature being hit becomes lethal to opponents. They also form the near-infinite loops with Dawnsire's 100-damage trigger. (Twinflame Tyrant, Pain for All, Brash Taunter) - Forced blocks and evasion: Must-be-blocked effects, extra combats, double strike and trample guarantee damage reaches blockers and players alike.
