The deck's core strategy revolves around aggressively milling its own library to fuel Hogaak, Arisen Necropolis, who costs nothing but creatures and graveyard cards, allowing him to be cast and recast repeatedly as a massive trampling threat. A dense package of enter-the-battlefield mill creatures and self-mill spells stocks the graveyard while simultaneously generating tokens to tap for Hogaak's convoke requirement, and cards like The Gitrog Monster create additional value by rewarding the steady stream of land cards entering the graveyard. The deck wins by overwhelming opponents with Hogaak's trample damage, backed by token swarms that can be pumped with effects like Overwhelming Stampede, or by leveraging graveyard-fueled value engines like Worm Harvest to generate an ever-growing army that buries the table in creatures.
