Zodiark, Umbral God is a mono-black sacrifice and forced-discard control deck that leverages symmetrical sacrifice effects and edict spells to keep opponents' boards and hands depleted while growing Zodiark into a massive indestructible threat through the +1/+1 counters it earns from each sacrificed creature. The deck accelerates its five-black-mana commander into play using devotion-based ramp and mana-doubling effects, then repeatedly forces all players to sacrifice creatures through a suite of sacrifice-demanding spells and creatures, punishing opponents more heavily than itself by running fewer creatures overall. Drain effects like Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Exsanguinate serve as primary win conditions, converting the life advantage and mana generated from Crypt Ghast into game-ending payoffs.
