Ozai, the Phoenix King

Ozai, the Phoenix King Commander Deck

by Darnima100 cards

Ozai leads an aggressive Rakdos firebending deck. Attack triggers on Ozai and a crowd of firebenders produce bursts of red combat mana, and that mana goes into instant-speed pump, removal, Lessons and activated abilities during combat. Ozai's own text keeps the mana useful: unspent mana turns red instead of emptying, so it carries forward. Holding six or more unspent mana also gives Ozai flying and indestructible. Attack-trigger multipliers and Lesson synergies stack extra value on top of each swing. How it wins: It swings with a hasty, trampling Ozai backed by firebending attackers, turns the combat mana into pump spells, evasion and big activations, and finishes with fatal combat damage or direct burn. Key roles: - Firebending mana engine: Creatures and lands that add red mana whenever they attack. This fuels combat-step spending and helps Ozai bank the six-plus mana he needs for flying and indestructible. (Zuko, Exiled Prince, Iroh, Dragon of the West, Fire Nation Palace) - Combat mana sinks: Instant pump, trample, double strike and repeatable activations that turn the burst of attack mana into lethal damage or extra value mid-combat. (Duelist's Flame, Bulk Up, Dragon Tyrant) - Attack-trigger amplifiers: Cards that copy or reward attack triggers and add bodies to each attack, so every firebending swing produces more mana, tokens and removal. (Firebender Ascension, Cruel Administrator, Combustion Man) - Lesson package: Cheap Lesson spells that remove creatures, grant evasion or dig for cards. They power up Fire Nation Cadets and Combustion Technique, can be copied, and can be tutored. (Jeong Jeong, the Deserter, Lo and Li, Twin Tutors, Solstice Revelations) - Big ramp and payoffs: Rituals, rocks and mana engines that cast and support expensive threats and burn outlets, many of them dragons. (Seething Song, Mana Geyser, Flamewave Invoker) - Black attrition and reanimation: Wraths, board-wipe sagas and recursion that clear blockers and bring back fallen threats, sometimes stealing opposing ones. (The Rise of Sozin, Ardyn, the Usurper, The Darkness Crystal)
