Choco, Seeker of Paradise Commander Deck
Choco turns Bird attacks into card selection and ramp. Each Bird that attacks digs one card deeper, keeps one in hand, puts every land found onto the battlefield, and bins the rest. The deck goes wide with Bird creatures and Bird tokens so that each attack digs further and drops more lands. Those lands set off a landfall package that makes more Birds, grows creatures with counters, and pumps Choco and the land-scaling Bird tokens. Ramp spells that put lands directly onto the battlefield, token doublers, and anthem and evasion effects turn this loop into a growing flying army that snowballs over a few turns. How it wins: It overwhelms opponents with a wide, pumped board of flying Birds and landfall-boosted tokens, using trample, first strike and team pumps to push through lethal combat damage, with counterspells and removal covering the turns it needs. Key roles: - Bird density: Cheap Birds and Bird-type creatures maximize how many cards Choco reveals per attack. Copy effects duplicate Bird spells or turn any creature into a Bird, and vigilance lets the flock attack while still holding the board (Birds of Paradise, Tawnos, the Toymaker, Mockingbird). - Landfall token engine: Lands entering from Choco's triggers and the ramp spells create Bird tokens. Token doublers multiply those tokens, and the tokens themselves gain power whenever lands enter (Chocobo Racetrack, Emeria Angel, Doubling Season). - Land-to-battlefield ramp: Spells that put lands directly onto the battlefield, some fetching several at once, double as extra landfall triggers on top of mana. This turns Choco's attacks and these sorceries into board growth (Entish Restoration, Reach the Horizon, Cultivate). - Counter growth and anthems: Landfall counter placers, Bird-wide buffs and counter doubling make the flock large enough to end games. Several cards reward combat damage dealt by Birds with more counters, cards or reanimated Birds (Kastral, the Windcrested, Murmuration, Sazh Katzroy). - Flying and evasion support: Effects that grant flying to non-flyers, trample, or a one-turn first strike and power boost let ground creatures and the swarm connect. A creature with power 4 or greater also rewards card draw (Salvation Swan, Garruk's Uprising, Eagles of the North). - Interaction and combat removal: Counterspells protect the board, some taxing harder while a Bird is out. Removal includes fight-style spells that use the size of the Birds, and a mass lifelink and indestructible instant blunts opposing wipes (Dazzling Denial, Bartz and Boko, Moogles' Valor).
