This is a white-black stax and drain-combo deck. Drana and Linvala shuts off every activated ability on opposing creatures and lets the deck use those abilities itself, paying with mana of any color. Around that lockdown, the list stacks rule-setting hatebears, taxes and enter-tapped effects to slow opponents. It then assembles a two-card lifegain/life-loss loop, where gaining life drains an opponent and an opponent losing life gains life back, which repeats until everyone is dead. How it wins: It completes an infinite drain loop by pairing a "whenever you gain life, opponent loses life" piece with a "whenever an opponent loses life, you gain life" piece, while stax pieces and cheap interaction keep opponents from stopping it. Key roles: - Drain loop combo: One lifegain-to-drain payoff plus one life-loss-to-lifegain payoff loop forever, and any single point of life loss or gain starts it. (Sanguine Bond, Exquisite Blood, Bloodthirsty Conqueror) - Additional loop halves and redundancy: Extra creatures fill either side of the loop, so many pairings work, and drain amplifiers speed up a partial setup. (Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Marauding Blight-Priest, Bloodletter of Aclazotz) - Combo assembly and recursion: An enchantment tutor fetches the enchantment halves, and reanimation and recursion rebuy creature halves or key permanents that get removed. (Idyllic Tutor, Reanimate, Sevinne's Reclamation) - Creature-ability stax: The commander steals every opposing creature's activated abilities while locking them down. Mana-dork and utility-creature decks lose their engines, and similar locks back it up. (Drana and Linvala, Linvala, Keeper of Silence, Karn, Argent Defender) - Spell and tempo taxes: Hatebears, enter-tapped effects and cast restrictions slow opponents' development and their ability to answer the combo, and some of them punish spellcasting with drain triggers that can start the loop. (Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, Drannith Magistrate, Kambal, Consul of Allocation) - Protecting the win: Silence effects, spell bounces and protection creatures force the combo turn through or keep the commander alive, and sweepers reset boards that get past the lock. (Grand Abolisher, Silence, Mother of Runes)
