Jace, Multiverse Architect Commander Deck
Jace, Multiverse Architect leads a four-color superfriends deck that floods the board with planeswalkers, the same plan as a Guff deck rebuilt around a commander that is itself a walker. Jace's +1 filters toward the best walkers each turn and the attack tax keeps him alive. His −3 exiles a spent planeswalker or a utility creature and digs for a fresh creature or planeswalker card to put onto the battlefield, so walkers that have used their loyalty can be cashed in for new threats. The deck leans on loyalty abilities, especially ultimates, and on cards that multiply or protect loyalty. How it wins: The deck builds a wide board of planeswalkers that generate value every turn, then wins by firing planeswalker ultimates or by draining and burning opponents out through walker-driven damage and emblems. Key roles: - Planeswalker density: A large count of planeswalkers across white, blue, black and red. This keeps Jace's −3 from whiffing, since it only stops on a creature or planeswalker card, and gives every turn several loyalty activations. (Jace, Multiverse Architect) - Loyalty acceleration: Proliferate effects, extra loyalty counters and permission to activate loyalty abilities more than once. These push walkers to their ultimates quickly, and Jace can recover loyalty fast to use his −3 again. - Walker recycling: Ways to exile or remove planeswalkers whose loyalty is spent, then replace them. Jace's −3 turns a nearly dead walker into a fresh one. Blink effects that reset loyalty, or anything that brings walkers back from the graveyard or exile, fit the same Guff-style recursion of walkers. (Jace, Multiverse Architect) - Defensive board: Fog effects, attack taxes, removal and sweepers that keep creature decks from attacking the walkers. They extend Jace's own tax on attacks into a wall around the whole team, and sweepers are safe because the threats are noncreature permanents. (Jace, Multiverse Architect) - Walker payoffs: Static effects and creatures that reward having many planeswalkers or activating loyalty abilities, such as card draw, damage or tokens on each activation. These turn a crowded walker board into a direct win route.
