Ygra, Eater of All
Ygra, Eater of All Commander Deck
Ygra turns every other creature into a Food artifact, so any creature dying or being sacrificed grows Ygra by two +1/+1 counters. That makes the whole board a pool of sacrifice fodder and value pieces. The deck makes Food tokens, feeds creatures and Foods into sac outlets for cards, mana and tokens, and stacks up counters on a hard-to-target Ygra. A second angle is artifact destruction: because Ygra makes everyone's creatures Food artifacts, artifact sweepers like Creeping Corrosion and Fade from History wipe opponents' creatures too. Those sweepers also pump Ygra, since every Food that hits a graveyard triggers it, including opponents' Foods. Cards that draw off opponents' artifacts dying turn those sweepers into card advantage. How it wins: Ygra grows huge off the stream of dying Foods and creatures, then gets pushed through with power doubling, trample or unblockability, while team pumps from mass Food sacrifice and drain effects finish the rest. Key roles: - Food production: These cards churn out Food tokens, and token doublers multiply them, keeping a steady supply of sacrifice fodder that also counts as Ygra triggers (Peregrin Took, Academy Manufactor, Gyome, Master Chef) - Sacrifice engines: Free or cheap outlets turn Foods and creatures into cards, mana, life drain or more tokens, and every sacrifice puts counters on Ygra (Krark-Clan Ironworks, Witch's Oven, Braids, Arisen Nightmare) - Food-sacrifice payoffs: These cards reward each Food sacrifice with squirrels, rats, card selection or counters across the board, compounding the value of every activation (Trail of Crumbs, Camellia, the Seedmiser, Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest) - Artifact wipes as creature wipes: Ygra makes every other creature an artifact, so artifact sweepers clear opposing boards while feeding Ygra, and the deck draws cards as opponents' artifacts die (Creeping Corrosion, Fade from History, Viridian Revel) - Food as mana and recursion: Effects turn Foods into mana sources, and graveyard tools rebuy or recast the sacrificed creatures to keep the loop going (Night of the Sweets' Revenge, Ninja Pizza, Osteomancer Adept) - Finishers: Power doubling and evasion close the game with an enormous Ygra, backed by mass pumps fueled by sacrificing Foods (Exponential Growth, Pippin, Warden of Isengard, Rogue's Passage)
