The deck revolves around Frodo, Adventurous Hobbit and Sam, Loyal Attendant, using a constant stream of Food tokens to gain life repeatedly each turn, which simultaneously fuels the Ring temptation mechanic and triggers numerous life-gain payoffs. As Frodo accumulates Ring temptations, Frodo, Sauron's Bane serves as the primary win condition, transforming into a Rogue that causes players to lose the game outright upon taking combat damage once the Ring has tempted you four or more times. Life gain above three per turn unlocks cascading card draw from multiple sources, while Sanguine Bond converts every life gain into direct opponent life loss, providing an alternate path to victory.
