The deck revolves around cycling cards to repeatedly blink creatures and generate clue tokens, using Astral Slide as the primary engine to exile key creatures at instant speed and return them to the battlefield to reuse their enter-the-battlefield effects, while also targeting opponents' creatures to reset them off the battlefield and disrupt their board state. Wernog, Rider's Chaplain floods the board with investigation triggers every time he enters or leaves the battlefield, and Academy Manufactor amplifies each investigate trigger into a trifecta of clue, food, and treasure tokens, while Bjorna sacrifices them to goad the biggest threat at the table each round. The avalanche of token creation and sacrifice is converted into a life drain win condition through Mirkwood Bats, Marionette Apprentice, and Marionette Master, while a toolbox tutor suite searches up key enchantments, artifacts, and creatures at the right moment, and graveyard recursion ensures the engine keeps running throughout the game.
