Betor, Ancestor's Voice fuels a life payment and life gain engine where the same resources that draw cards, ramp, and remove threats also power Betor's end step abilities — distributing +1/+1 counters to grow a board of threats and repeatedly reanimating creatures from the graveyard to generate value. The deck leans heavily into paying life to draw cards and cast spells, then converting that life loss into graveyard recursion and counter accumulation, while effects that double life gained or drain opponents for life gained keep the deck's totals stable. The primary win condition is a loop involving Mister Negative, Doom Whisperer, and Pact Weapon, where exchanging life totals and then repeatedly paying life to surveil and draw generates near-infinite life loss for a target opponent.
