Hail Hydras!
Runadi, Behemoth Caller Commander Deck
Mono-green +1/+1 counter stompy that ramps into big creatures and swollen Hydras. Runadi adds bonus counters to five-plus mana value creatures and gives haste to anything with three or more counters. A heavy suite of counter doublers and adders (Hardened Scales effects, Doubling Season, Branching Evolution) and repeatable counter engines turn every creature into a hasty, trampling threat. Mana creatures that scale with power or counters feed the X-cost Hydras and large spells, and Terrasymbiosis and Garruk's Uprising turn the growth into card draw. How it wins: It overwhelms opponents with huge, often hasty, trampling creatures whose counters double or snowball each turn, finishing with mass pump or multi-opponent damage. Key roles: - Counter amplifiers: These replacement effects multiply every counter placed, so X-cost Hydras, Runadi's bonus counters and the per-turn engines grow far beyond their face value and easily reach Runadi's three-counter haste threshold (Hardened Scales, Doubling Season, Branching Evolution). - Repeatable growth engines: Upkeep, combat and attack triggers that add or double counters across the board, growing the whole team every turn (Kalonian Hydra, Ouroboroid, Court of Garenbrig). - Hydra and big-creature threats: X-cost Hydras that scale with available mana and doublers, plus five-plus mana value bodies that collect Runadi's bonus counters and arrive hasty, with Gargos discounting the Hydras (Gargos, Vicious Watcher, Hydra Omnivore, Worldspine Wurm). - Scaling ramp: Mana creatures and lands that produce more as power and counters grow, including Runadi itself, powering huge X spells and expensive creatures (Selvala, Heart of the Wilds, Kami of Whispered Hopes, Gyre Sage). - Counter-fueled card advantage: Draw engines that pay off for placing counters or for creatures with high power entering or connecting (Terrasymbiosis, Garruk's Uprising, Inspiring Call). - Fight removal and finishers: Big counter-laden creatures fight away blockers, then mass trample and pump closes the game (Ezuri's Predation, Overwhelming Stampede, Khalni Ambush).
