Sefrinillo
Sefris of the Hidden Ways Commander Deck
This is an Esper control deck that uses Sefris as a slow value engine. Creatures hit the graveyard through discard outlets, looting, surveil, wraths and chump-trades, which ventures into the dungeon once per turn, on its own turn and on opponents' turns. Completing a dungeon reanimates a creature. Alongside Sefris sits a dense layer of reanimation spells and recursive creatures, backed by heavy counterspells, removal, pillowfort and tax-style card advantage. How it wins: It grinds opponents out with card and mana advantage and life-drain pieces, then closes with large reanimated or recurred threats like flying fatties and Sheoldred, while extort and life-loss effects chip in. Key roles: - Filling the graveyard: Discard, loot, connive and surveil effects put creature cards into the graveyard, which triggers Sefris each turn and sets up reanimation targets (Tortured Existence, Doom Whisperer, Raffine, Scheming Seer). - Dungeon acceleration: Extra venture sources speed up dungeon completion, so Sefris's uncapped completion trigger returns creatures more often (Radiant Solar, Triumphant Adventurer, Sefris of the Hidden Ways). - Reanimation and recursion: Cheap reanimation spells and creatures that return other creatures on entering or leaving the battlefield chain value, and a token copy is added when creatures come back from the graveyard (Reveillark, Karmic Guide, Twilight Diviner). - Stack control and interaction: A large suite of free and cheap counters, spot removal and sweepers keeps the table in check. Wraths double as a way to trigger Sefris (Force of Negation, Supreme Verdict, Swords to Plowshares). - Tax and punisher card advantage: Effects punish opponents for casting spells, drawing or searching, turning their actions into cards, treasures and life loss (Rhystic Study, Smothering Tithe, Sheoldred, the Apocalypse). - Pillowfort and drain: Attack taxes protect the life total while extort pieces and death-triggered treasures slowly drain the table (Propaganda, Ghostly Prison, Life Insurance).
