Kardur, Doomscourge is the engine of this deck, forcing opponents' creatures to attack each other rather than you while draining life from every attacker that dies in the process. The deck amplifies this chaos through effects that goad enemies, punish opponents for attacking one another, and squeeze out additional life loss and card advantage from the constant stream of creature deaths. Helm of the Host creates multiple copies of Kardur to stack and extend the goad effect turn after turn, while Kaervek the Merciless punishes opponents for casting spells during the mayhem, accelerating everyone's demise through a war of attrition that you profit from most.
