Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker enables an engine of continuous recursion by returning power-1-or-less creatures to the battlefield each end step, allowing the deck to repeatedly exploit enter-the-battlefield and death triggers every turn cycle. The deck weaponizes this loop through drain effects like Falkenrath Noble and Gray Merchant of Asphodel, forced discard, and life loss pings that steadily grind opponents to zero, while sacrifice outlets keep the engine churning and generate card draw and mana along the way. Protective spells and regeneration effects keep Shirei on the battlefield, since the entire strategy collapses without the commander present to fuel the recursion loop.
