Thantis, the Warweaver Commander Deck

by spectral_orc352100 cards

This is a forced-combat deck that makes every creature on the table attack each turn, with Thantis and goad effects pushing opponents into attacking. The deck profits from every swing: Thantis grows a +1/+1 counter whenever a creature attacks its controller, attackers bleed life, Ogres and treasures appear, and the deaths that combat causes draw cards. A thick suite of reach Spiders and Fog effects absorbs or blanks the hits aimed back, while the opponents grind each other down. How it wins: Opponents batter one another under mandatory attacks and drain triggers, and a huge Thantis and the deck's own big creatures, often with double strike, menace or trample, finish off the weakened table. Key roles: - Mandatory attack enablers: Creatures and spells force every creature, or every opponent's creature, to attack each combat, with goad steering those attacks away from this player. Thantis anchors the effect (Fumiko the Lowblood, Disrupt Decorum, Kardur, Doomscourge). - Gifted attackers: Hostile creatures and tokens are handed to opponents so they can't sit back, and they arrive with haste or forced attacks that keep combat chaotic (Xantcha, Sleeper Agent, Alexios, Deimos of Kosmos, Rite of the Raging Storm). - Punishing attacks: Being attacked or watching attackers swing drains opponents, creates Ogres, makes Gold or Treasure, or draws cards, and each attack into Thantis adds counters (Revenge of Ravens, Kazuul, Tyrant of the Cliffs, Parasitic Impetus). - Web defense and Fogs: Reach Spiders and deathtouch blockers wall off incoming attackers. Shelob turns slain foes into Food copies, Spider token makers widen the wall, and combat-prevention instants blank a lethal swing or a crack-back (Shelob, Child of Ungoliant, Dragonlair Spider, Winds of Qal Sisma). - Death payoffs: Constant combat trades fuel card draw, life drain and counter growth whenever creatures die (Harvester of Souls, Morbid Opportunist, Slaughter Specialist). - Lethal amplifiers: Global double strike, menace on attacks against opponents, and evasion tools convert the deck's big bodies and a swollen Thantis into kills (Avatar of Slaughter, Frontier Warmonger, Garruk's Uprising).
