The deck exploits Ascendant Evincar's passive field-wide debuff to systematically shrink or outright kill nonblack creatures while simultaneously pumping your own black army, creating a persistent battlefield advantage simply by having the commander in play. The strategy leans into token generation and swarm tactics, flooding the board with black creatures that each benefit from the +1/+1 bonus while nonblack threats wither under the -1/-1 penalty. Winning typically comes through overwhelming combat superiority or grinding opponents down as their creatures die to the continuous debuff, with the Evincar itself closing games from the air via flying.
