Black Waltz No. 3
Black Waltz No. 3 Commander Deck
Black Waltz No. 3 leads a spellslinger burn deck that chains cheap noncreature spells. Each cast turns into repeated damage to every opponent, from the commander's own 2-damage trigger plus a wide board of pinger creatures and Wizard tokens. Damage amplifiers multiply every ping, and rituals, cost reducers, Treasure makers and impulse draw let a single turn string together enough casts to burn the whole table down. How it wins: It assembles several cast-triggered damage sources and doublers or adders, then fires off a long chain of rituals, cantrips and cheap spells in one turn so the stacked triggers kill all opponents at once, with Grapeshot, Boltwave or an Underworld Breach replay loop as finishers. Key roles: - Cast-trigger damage engines: Creatures, Wizard tokens and enchantments that each deal damage to every opponent whenever a noncreature or instant/sorcery spell is cast, stacking alongside Black Waltz No. 3 so every spell hits the table many times. (Longshot, Rebel Bowman, Guttersnipe, Fiery Inscription) - Wizard token army: Spells, creatures and even a land adventure that create 0/1 Wizard pingers, growing the number of triggers per spell and enabling the Wizard-specific payoffs. Wizards also get a team lifelink boost. (Kuja, Genome Sorcerer // Trance Kuja, Fate Defied, Cornered by Black Mages, Transpose) - Damage multipliers: Replacement effects that double noncombat damage or add to it per source, and a Wizard that makes Wizard triggers fire twice, which turns 1-damage pings into lethal bursts. (Solphim, Mayhem Dominus, Harmonic Prodigy, Tor Wauki the Younger) - Ritual and mana-positive chains: Rituals, cost reducers and spell-cast mana or Treasure keep casts flowing in a single turn, and each ritual is itself a trigger. (Birgi, God of Storytelling // Harnfel, Horn of Bounty, Seething Song, Storm-Kiln Artist) - Card flow and recursion: Rummaging, impulse draw and graveyard recasting refuel the chain. Discard-to-draw spells and Underworld Breach or Mizzix's Mastery let spells be cast again for more triggers. (Underworld Breach, Jeska's Will, Artist's Talent) - Commander enhancement and protection: Equipment that keeps Black Waltz No. 3 safe and hasty, or gives it lifelink so its own pings also gain life, plus cheap interaction cast partly for its triggers. (Basilisk Collar, Swiftfoot Boots, Deadly Rollick)
