Atraxa leads a counters-and-poison deck: it spreads a little poison through infect and toxic creatures and spells that hand every opponent a counter, then multiplies those counters with repeated proliferate from Atraxa's end step, creature triggers and spell-cast triggers. The same proliferate engine pumps planeswalker loyalty, so a superfriends package rides alongside. Counter doublers and proliferate-twice effects turn each trigger into large jumps, and a heavy blue interaction suite protects the engine. How it wins: It pushes opponents to ten poison counters through toxic and infect damage plus relentless proliferation, or ramps a planeswalker to its ultimate for extra turns or a poison finish such as Vraska, Betrayal's Sting doubled by Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider. Key roles: - Poison seeding: Evasive infect and toxic creatures and spells that give each opponent a counter, so proliferate has poison to grow from the very first point. (Blighted Agent, Prologue to Phyresis, Vraska's Fall) - Proliferate engines: Repeatable triggers from combat damage, landfall and spell casting add many proliferates each turn on top of Atraxa's end-step trigger. (Inexorable Tide, Flux Channeler, Contaminant Grafter) - Counter multipliers: Effects that double proliferates or counters placed make each trigger count twice, speeding both the poison clock and loyalty growth. (Tekuthal, Inquiry Dominus, Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider, Deepglow Skate) - Planeswalker ultimates: Walkers gain loyalty from proliferate until they hit game-ending ultimates, and the Gauntlet-Oath-Teferi package creates a loop of infinite extra turns. (Teferi, Master of Time, Ichormoon Gauntlet, Oath of Teferi) - Corrupted payoffs: Cards that reward opponents being poisoned with cards drawn or stolen, so the poison plan also generates advantage. (Ixhel, Scion of Atraxa, Ezuri, Stalker of Spheres, Norn's Decree) - Counter-based mana: Mana rocks with charge counters grow when proliferated, which fuels expensive walkers and proliferate activations. (Astral Cornucopia, Everflowing Chalice, Karn's Bastion)
