Sai, Master Thopterist
Sai, Master Thopterist Commander Deck
How the deck works: Sai turns every artifact spell into a flying Thopter. That makes this an artifact-density deck that chains cheap artifacts and cost reducers into a wide board of flyers and an ever-growing artifact count. Doubled token makers and spell-cast draw engines keep the chain going, and Sai's own sacrifice ability turns spare tokens or used-up artifacts into cards. Anthems and artifact-count scaling then turn the swarm into lethal air damage, with a few alternate win conditions on the side. How it wins: It swarms opponents with pumped Thopters and artifact-count-scaled fliers, drawing off combat damage, and can also close through Strixhaven Stadium, Mechanized Production, or Scrawling Crawler drain. Key roles: - Cast triggers and cheap artifacts: Sai's Thopter trigger and copies of it, plus cost reducers and cheap rocks, turn every artifact spell into extra bodies and cards. (Efficient Construction, Etherium Sculptor, Vedalken Archmage) - Token multiplication and Thopter factories: These pieces add extra Thopters to every token creation or make tokens steadily over turns, widening the flying board. (Stridehangar Automaton, Retrofitter Foundry, Hangarback Walker) - Artifact-count payoffs and anthems: Creatures and equipment scale with the number of artifacts in play, or pump every artifact creature, so the token swarm becomes a real clock. (Master of Etherium, Broodstar, Steel Overseer) - Combat damage card engines: Connecting with evasive artifact creatures draws cards or makes more Thopters, rewarding a wide flying attack. (Thopter Spy Network, Research Thief, Sharding Sphinx) - Sacrifice and recursion loop: Sai, sac-for-card artifacts and Technodrome cash in excess artifacts, while graveyard recursion brings key pieces back to recast for new triggers. (Emry, Lurker of the Loch, Academy Ruins, Ichor Wellspring) - Alternate wins and board control: Copy-based and counter-based alternate wins sit beside colorless sweepers and counterspells that protect the artifact board. (Mechanized Production, Strixhaven Stadium, All Is Dust)
