Toph, Earthbending Master
Toph, Earthbending Master Commander Deck
This is a mono-green lands deck. It floods the battlefield with extra land drops, fetches and ramp so that Toph, Earthbending Master piles up experience counters through landfall. Every attack then turns a land into an ever-larger hasty creature that returns to the battlefield if it dies. Around that engine sit more earthbend sources, +1/+1 counter doubling and proliferate, and draw that scales off counters and creature power, so animated lands become huge, resilient threats. How it wins: It attacks with oversized, hasty land creatures whose counters get doubled or pumped by team-wide anthems with trample, backed by Scute Swarm swarms and Inkmoth Nexus poison as alternate damage routes. Key roles: - Landfall acceleration: Extra land drops, play-from-top or play-from-graveyard effects, fetchlands and land sacrifice-and-search spells each count as a land entering. That grows Toph, Earthbending Master's experience total and fuels the other landfall payoffs. (Azusa, Lost but Seeking; Oracle of Mul Daya; Scapeshift) - Earthbending army: Creatures, sagas and spells that animate lands with counters stack on top of Toph, Earthbending Master's attack trigger, giving the board multiple hasty land threats. Land creatures also gain vigilance and get bigger the more bending happens. (Avatar Kyoshi, Earthbender; Bumi, Eclectic Earthbender; The Boulder, Ready to Rumble) - Counter amplification: Doubling, proliferating and recurring counters turn modest earthbends into lethal ones. Counters also move back onto a creature when an animated land dies and returns. (Kalonian Hydra; Evolution Sage; The Ozolith) - Counters into cards: Draw engines that count countered creatures, high power, or placed counters keep the hand full of lands and threats. Sacrifice outlets cash in a huge land creature, which simply comes back tapped. (Terrasymbiosis; Greater Good; Inspiring Call) - Landfall payoffs and evasion: Landfall triggers make insect copies, extra mana and counters. Trample enablers and pump spells push the giant lands through blockers, and combat damage fetches still more lands. (Scute Swarm; Kodama of the West Tree; Overrun) - Lands as creatures, creatures as lands: Effects that make every creature a Forest, or make every land a Forest, add mana and widen what earthbending and Forest-count spells can use. Dead creatures can also come back as Forest lands. (Ashaya, Soul of the Wild; Yavimaya, Cradle of Growth; Yedora, Grave Gardener)
