Vivi Paceña
Vivi Ornitier Commander Deck
Vivi Ornitier spellslinger: a pile of cheap noncreature spells (cantrips, counters, burn, Baubles, auras) where every cast grows Vivi and pings each opponent for 1. As Vivi's power climbs, its once-per-turn {0} ability produces a growing burst of blue and red mana, which funds still more spells in a single turn. The deck layers cost reducers, magecraft engines, and big ritual effects on top of that loop to chain long spell turns, then refuels with wheels and recursion. How it wins: Vivi's damage pings pile up across many cheap casts, and the deck finishes with a big storm turn: rituals and treasure feed a Past in Flames chain, and a large Grapeshot or a huge Traumatic Critique closes the game. Key roles: - Cheap spell density: free and one-mana spells (cantrips, Baubles, one-mana counters and burn) each count as a Vivi Ornitier trigger, so every turn becomes a string of pings and counters while digging for pieces (Mishra's Bauble, Gut Shot, Preordain). - Mana engines and rituals: cost reducers, treasure makers and burst-mana sorceries turn growing spell counts into even more mana, alongside Vivi Ornitier's own scaling mana ability (Storm-Kiln Artist, Rousing Refrain, Stormcatch Mentor). - Damage-to-draw auras: auras that draw when the enchanted creature damages an opponent turn Vivi Ornitier's noncombat ping on every spell into a card per opponent, making the commander a draw engine. Curiosity and Ophidian Eye do this, and Sigil of Sleep adds a bounce on each ping (Curiosity, Ophidian Eye, Sigil of Sleep). - Refuel and recursion: wheels, impulse draw and graveyard flashback reload the hand for a second wave of casts within a single turn (Windfall, Past in Flames, The Tale of Tamiyo). - Storm finishers and copies: storm and X-damage spells convert the accumulated spell count or mana into lethal damage, and copy effects double those payoffs. Copies add damage but don't add Vivi Ornitier triggers (Grapeshot, Traumatic Critique, Reverberate). - Interaction suite: a dense counterspell and bounce package protects the combo turn and Vivi Ornitier itself, while Hullbreaker Horror turns every cast into tempo (Counterspell, Flusterstorm, Hullbreaker Horror).
