Sauron, the Dark Lord Commander Deck

by Christ-Bearer100 cards

Sauron grows a single Orc Army whenever opponents cast spells. The deck layers more amass sources on top: instants and sorceries that amass, Saruman the White Hand, Bothersome Noisemaker, and a counter-doubler. It then pushes that Army into combat so it tempts the Ring, and each temptation lets Sauron turn a hand into four fresh cards. Ring-tempt spells are spread throughout as a second way to trigger the discard-and-draw-four refill, alongside Gandalf, Call of the Ring, and Ringwraiths recursion. How it wins: It swings with one huge Army made unblockable or trampling, refilling the hand each hit, backed by spell-cast burn from Fiery Inscription and The Great Goblin and finishers like Fling and Rite of Consumption that cash in the Army's power. Key roles: - Amass engine: spells and creatures that put +1/+1 counters on the single Army, scaling with noncreature spells cast, alongside Sauron's trigger on opponents' spells (Saruman, the White Hand, Bothersome Noisemaker, Saruman the White). - Counter amplification and payoff: adding extra counters to every amass and dealing damage each time counters land, turning small amass effects into a fast clock (Mauhúr, Uruk-hai Captain, The Great Goblin, Orcish Medicine). - Getting the Army through: evasion, trample and haste so the Army connects and triggers Sauron's Ring temptation (Orcish Siegemaster, Corsairs of Umbar, Rogue's Passage). - Ring temptation and refill: cheap tempt effects that fire Sauron's discard-and-draw-four, plus cards that draw or recur off each temptation (Call of the Ring, Gandalf, Friend of the Shire, Ringwraiths). - Spellslinger value: cheap interaction that amasses, cost reducers, and burn or Wraith tokens for every instant and sorcery cast, with graveyard recasting (Fiery Inscription, Lord of the Nazgûl, Kess, Dissident Mage). - Sacrifice finishers: converting the oversized Army's power into direct damage or cards to close the game (Fling, Rite of Consumption, Bolg of the North).
