Tony Stark
Tony Stark Commander Deck
This is an Izzet artifact deck. Tony Stark digs the top of the library for artifacts, then transforms into The Invincible Iron Man, a hasty flier that cheats an artifact from hand onto the battlefield at each of its combats and auto-attaches Equipment to itself. The rest of the list feeds and rewards a steady stream of artifacts entering: improvise and affinity discounts, artifact-count payoffs that grow huge, enter triggers that ping opponents, and card draw keyed to artifacts. All of it turns into an aggressive air force of evasive artifact creatures and suited-up legendary heroes. How it wins: Flying artifact creatures and an equipped Iron Man, pumped by artifact count, counters and Equipment, attack through the air, while burn triggers and saga damage finish opponents off. Key roles: - Artifact tutoring and cheating: Tony Stark filters the top of the library for artifact cards, and his transformed side drops big artifacts or Equipment into play for free each combat. Other effects find or cast artifact creatures straight from the library. (Vision Quest, Mm'menon, the Right Hand, Iron Lad, Diverging Destiny) - Artifact-fueled cost reduction: Improvise, affinity and artifact-only mana let a wide artifact board pay for expensive threats and card refills at a steep discount. (Ironheart, Clever Champion, Krang, Master Mind, Arc Reactor) - Scaling artifact beaters: These creatures grow with the number of artifacts in play or with each artifact that enters. Some draw cards when they attack, and others hand out counters and combat buffs to the artifact team. (Iron Man, Master of Machines, Machinesmith Automaton, Iron Spider, Stark Upgrade) - Equipment and evasion package: Cheap Equipment that the transformed Iron Man attaches for free, or that grants flying and haste, turns any body into a lethal evasive threat. A damage-doubling hammer turns a worthy legendary hero into a fast clock. (Mjölnir, Hammer of Thor, Rocket-Powered Goblin Glider, Vibranium Energy Daggers) - Incidental burn and reach: Artifact enter triggers, tap triggers, discard triggers and saga chapters chip every opponent, closing games when combat stalls. A mill engine piggybacks on that life loss. (HYDRA Assault Robot, Hawkeye's Bow, Armor Wars) - Attack-trigger value: Attacking itself generates free spells, extra card selection or extra turns, rewarding the deck's constant aggression. (Cosmic Cube, Cool but Rude, Kang the Conqueror)
